I’ll see those fancy valentines
For sale in every store;
Yet there’s a very special kind
I always treasure more.
The printed ones are nice, of course,
With verse and lace and such;
But somehow they just seem to lack
That warm and loving touch.
The valentine I treasure most
Is given with a kiss
And fashioned by dear little hands
To fill my heart with bliss.
It’s given with a joyful hug;
And though I shed a tear,
It fills my heart with happiness
The same way every year.
Too soon those busy little hands
Will buy one at the store;
And yet my heart will treasure most
The valentines of yore.
“Treasured Valentine” by LaVerne P. Larson
I found some great links for valentines that you can help your child make (or if they are older, you can give them the instructions and let them go).
Lots of Crafts (you will need to scroll down the page)
Have fun with these links and with making some treasured valentines!
The pic above is from Family Fun magazine (such a sweet pic!), but none of the valentine card links were working on their site (*frowning face*).
