Today is the last day that our exchange student will spend with us in our home. Tomorrow morning, we are going out for breakfast and then spending the day in Atlanta (her flight leaves out of ATL tomorrow night).
WOW, a month sure does fly by fast! It has been fun and the Lord has really been teaching me a lot! I think one of the biggies is “hospitality”. I have never had the opportunity to open up my home to another before now. It has been a blessing (well, most of the time, LOL).
We will have a special day today… waffles for breakfast (Marie’s favorite) and then will spend one last afternoon shopping. We will come home and have her favorite dinner and then we will give her our farewell gifts.
I am really going to miss her! She has been part of our family for a month now so I am sure that it will be hard to say goodbye. I am, however, looking forward to having things back to normal. We have been so busy that I feel like I have neglected a lot and I do long for that sense of balance that I had had.
It has been fun and I pray that it will prove to be fruitful. I pray that she has seen the Lord in us and in our home. I pray that through this experience, she can come to know that He is real and that He is God. I pray that this month has not been spent in vain but that it has been spent nurturing a small seed that will take root and grow…. Lord, please save her!
Well, I must get those waffles cooked if we are going to eat this morning (LOL).
Have a blessed day!
