Papa Biscuits

Yesterday morning, my dd complained to me that we were having cereal for breakfast AGAIN. She went on to say that it had been two days since I had made biscuits and sausage. They are so deprived Ė lol.

This morning I made some Papa Biscuits. They are called Papa Biscuits because my Dad makes them (and the kids call him Papa). They are so yummy and easy!

Papa Biscuits

2 Cups of Self Rising Flour
1 Cup of Buttermilk*
2 Heaping tablespoons of Mayonnaise

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix all ingredients together.
Spoon biscuits onto pan (the dough mixture will be sticky but they will stay about the same size you spoon them).
Bake for 15 minutes

* I use the dry buttermilk (which changes the buttermilk to 4 tablespoons of dry buttermilk and 1 cup of water). I donít use much buttermilk so this is more economical for us and it still tastes great!

Let me know if you like these! They are a favorite of my kids! My kids love to either butter them or put jelly on them. I like them with sausage.

I make homemade biscuits but I cheat when it comes to my sausage. I buy a pack of 18 at Aldi for $3.79. They are pre-cooked so I only have to microwave them for a couple of minutes and breakfast is done! You can get the sausage in three flavors: Original, Maple (our favorite!!!) or Hot and Spicy. They taste just as good as the kind you have to cook on the stove but they are faster and it is easier clean-up.

Enjoy!

  1. Sounds good. My kids call my dad Papa too because that’s how my son first started saying grandpa. I think I will try your biscuits too, I am always game for an easy recipe. I have a really good quick recipe too that I have been meaning to post on my recipe blog. Thanks for the reminder.
